Other than our Summer Youth Theatre Camps, we are a 100% volunteer-driven charitable organization. We are always on the lookout for new and energetic talent to volunteer with us in various departments. Whether you are new to theatre or you come with years of experience, we will embrace your eagerness to join our team!
We produce 3 full-scale theatre performances per year, plus we participate in parades, community events, fundraising efforts, grant projects, capital campaigns, and everything in between.
STAGE MANAGER
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stage Manager for our upcoming production of Mean Girls. The Stage Manager is a key organizational and leadership role, supporting the Director during rehearsals and taking primary responsibility for backstage operations during performance.
Responsibilities:
Attend required rehearsals and take clear, detailed blocking notes, maintaining an accurate record of staging and changes.
Be available for all performances and required technical/dress rehearsals.
Organize, delegate to, and supervise volunteer backstage crew members.
Prepare backstage before each performance, including setting and checking props and quick-change costumes
Run backstage during performances, coordinating cast members, quick changes, props, scene changes, and other transitions.
Give pre-show calls and communicate with Front of House and the production team to ensure the cast, crew, audience, and space are ready for an on-time performance.
Be available to open and close the theatre for some rehearsals, with this responsibility shared among production team members.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, calm under pressure and a strong communicator.

LEAD SCENIC PAINTER
We are looking for a talented Lead Scenic Set Painter to bring our stage design for Mean Girls to life. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Director and set designer and be responsible for picking up supplies and overseeing set painting volunteers. We need someone with a strong artistic eye, leadership skills, and experience in various scenic painting techniques.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the production team to develop the overall colour palette, painting styles, finishes, and scenic techniques for the set.
Plan painting needs and organize materials, supplies, and the sequence of work.
Work with the production team to organize and coordinate volunteer painters.
Lead painting sessions and demonstrate techniques and provide guidance to volunteers with a wide range of experience and skill levels.
Delegate tasks appropriately, from priming and base coating to more detailed scenic painting techniques, so that volunteers can contribute at a level they are comfortable with.
Ensure that scenic painting is completed consistently with the overall design and within the production timeline.
Work collaboratively with the Set Builder/Construction Crew as set pieces are completed and become ready for painting.
Most painting sessions will take place at the Quick As A Wink warehouse on Wentworth Road in Windsor or in the theatre at King’s-Edgehill School. While planning and collaboration will begin in the fall, the majority of hands-on painting will take place during December and January.
GENERAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Quick As A Wink Theatre Society is organized into departments, each of which is responsible for various aspects of the theatre operations. This includes the Arts and Education Department, the Communications Department, the Marketing Department, the Development Department, the Assets Department, and the Sales Department. We often create specific Ad Hoc committees for projects, such as our performances, and special projects, such as our Winkie Awards Gala or Capital Campaigns.
